Everyone go ahead and navigate to Mixamo.com
This website has a library of a variety of free to use characters, and animations which you can bring into your projects. Go ahead and make an account and then, select a character and a particular animation that you want to bring into your project.
Once you have found the animation that you want go ahead and press download. NOTE: for those animations in which a character is walking or moving away from the origin point (walking running, swimming, etc…) there is an option to have your character “move in place” Make sure to click this, otherwise it will be challenging to link animations together in the way that you want to.
I chose this character running and I clicked “In place”. When I clicked download I saw these options:
This is asking me if I just want to add the armature or if I want to add the mesh with it, and what format I want to download. All of these settings look great for what I want to do, so I’ll press download.
All I need to do to bring this into my project now is go to blender and press:
File > Import > FBX > Navigate to my Download
